About Us
Early in 2003 a group of friends who had been getting together to study the Tarot began creating their own deck as a tool for further development and enlightenment. They were all readers and Tarot enthusiasts whose combined history with the Tarot included a vast variety of experiences with all aspects of metaphysics. They conceived each of the 78 images through discussion. Each card was described and envisioned on paper. Eventually they decided to engage an illustrator to capture their concepts in actual images. He took their descriptions and interpreted their vision into individual works of art that became Today’s Journey Tarot.
The Creators
The members of Expanding Dimensions from left to right; Ben Perry, Teresa Sue McAdams, John Lavey, Pat Lavey, Bonnie Taylor. They are from Louisville, Kentucky. Their mutual respect for the tarot and its wisdom compelled them to create this fresh approach to the Tarot’s ancient teachings.
John Lavey holds a B.A. degree in Sociology and has over twenty years experience reading the tarot for individuals as well as at psychic fairs and events. John is a practitioner of yoga and meditation and has studied a wide variety of metaphysical subjects. John is also a student of nature and enjoys spending time outdoors.
Pat Lavey has used her love of traveling to enhance her knowledge of various cultures and religions. Pat, who graduated with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, enjoys the study of comparative religions as well as the tarot. Pat has been reading the tarot for over twenty years privately and at psychic fairs and events. She enhances her daily meditations by spending time in her garden and through the practice of yoga.
Teresa Sue McAdams, Ph.D. obtained a doctorate in Philosophy in Parapsychic Science. Sue is a full time teacher of tarot, meditation, spiritual development and tai chi. It was in Sue’s classes that the members of Expanding Dimensions met. Sue has worked professionally as a tarot reader since 1988, doing private readings, psychic fairs and events. Sue enjoys the martial arts, where she holds a 2nd degree black belt in tae kwon do and uses her teaching skills to inspire others to achieve their goals.
Ben Perry is a certified hypnotherapist with over twenty years experience in leading guided meditations and conducting hypnotherapy sessions. Ben has produced and recorded several guided meditation CDs. Ben has been reading tarot professionally at psychic fairs and privately since 1988 and has given lectures at area schools, churches, books stores and learning centers. Ben practices tae kwon do and tai chi.
Bonnie Taylor is a Reiki practitioner who has dedicated herself to the healing arts. Bonnie holds a B.S. degree in Architectural Drafting and History and has spent the last twenty years enhancing her knowledge of metaphysics. During the course of her study, Bonnie became interested in the tarot and has participated in psychic fairs and events. Bonnie meditates regularly and enjoys the tranquility she obtains through tai chi.
The Illustrator
Christopher G. Wilkey holds a B.F.A. in Studio Art and an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Graphic Design. He first encountered the Tarot as a child in a book from his family’s library that dealt with psychic and esoteric phenomena. He lives in Louisville, Kentucky.
